I'm trying to convince myself that getting across the finish line is the most important goal and that time doesn't matter. I've always had a little bit of a competitive streak, so that's tough for me. Luckily, the only person I'm competing with is myself - since everyone I know that's running on Sunday is far faster than me. Maria and I are planning to start together, but she'll take off and finish about a half hour before I do (if not more).
So, I've decided that my true goal is to get across the finish line, but I have an "I won't feel like a loser" time in my head and a "that would be awesome" time in my head. I don't want to disappoint, so how about I just let you know which one I beat on Sunday afternoon?
